IN-DEPTH EXPERIENCES
The centre of Ajdovščina was formed at the confluence of the Hubelj River and the Lokavšček Stream. The wild and rainy Hubelj River rises from a huge rock and gushes out of numerous holes and cracks when it rains heavily. The spring itself is a natural sanctuary, but nature has hidden many other secrets of the area in this unspoilt nature. The tour follows the base of the mountain, so we will be in touch with its power, which is also reflected in the huge megaliths. From the hills, we will also have a magnificent view of the valley and the town of Ajdovščina.
During this journey, we will transcend the boundaries of observation limited to our five senses. Instead, we will rely on intuition and sensitivity, drawing from ancient knowledge that has long connected human communities with nature. Our path will take us to places of significant energetic power, where we will engage in exercises to deepen our connection with nature and strengthen our intuition. By releasing our own blockages, we will actively participate in the creation of a new Earth culture – one that honors and nurtures Gaia, our planet.

The Hubelj Spring is a mesmerizing natural sanctuary where elemental beings gather and play, creating a safe haven for themselves. The legend of its origin is an interesting tale, as dwarfs once asked a giant to move rocks so that water could flow into the valley. As a testament to this tale, we can still observe massive rocks in the upper reaches of the river.
Hubelj flows from north to south and turns at a right angle towards the river Vipava, which is oriented from east to west. The waters from the north carry the energy of power, while the rivers from the east carry the energy of the sun.
The confluence of Hubelj and Lokavšček forms the hill Škol, which used to be a fortified settlement providing a secure refuge to people. On the other side of the spring lies Stara Baba, a hill or rock where people traditionally danced, ate, and celebrated on St. George’s Day. Notably, baba is associated with water and weather in the traditions of all Slavic peoples.
On the way back towards the Hubelj Spring, we will take a walk along the Hubelj riverbed, where we can feel its torrential power. Cold-water swimming enthusiasts can also take a refreshing dip in its waters.
- We will start the journey at the Hubelj spring, which is one of the most powerful karst springs.
- We will follow the old Roman road to a group of megaliths, where we will try to connect with their consciousness. Using a pendulum, we will measure their strength and their influence on the environment.
- Our path will lead us to two other interesting megalithic groups; in the first one, the megaliths are arranged in a circular formation, while the second one surrounds a unique view of the Vipava Valley.
- At this point, the plain turns into a hill. We will climb up to Stara Baba and connect with the energetically powerful small cave, which we will also measure with a pendulum to check its impact on our bodies.
- From the top of Baba, we will take a different path back to the Hubelj spring and walk towards Škol, which is one of the first settlements – hillforts in this area.
- We will descend under Škol, where we will visit an interesting “trojan”, composed of energetically powerful megaliths.
- We will return along the Hubelj stream, where some heavenly spots await us.

Kristina Petrović
After many years of working in entrepreneurship, she decided to deepen her connection with nature and its energies. After completing a course in dowsing, which she learned from Jože Munih, she continued her education in geomancy at Marko Pogačnik’s school. The knowledge she gains is incorporated into her walks in nature. As she says herself, she does not like to walk quickly through nature as it prevents genuine contact. Therefore, she advocates for a slow pace and more stops, which allow for a deeper connection and better understanding of what is happening. In 2022, she also published a booklet dedicated to the nymph of the river Vipava, which is dedicated to places influenced by the nymph. In collaboration with Jože Munih, she explores energetically powerful springs of the Vipava Valley, which you will discover on your joint journeys.
